If I Can, You Can

Last night I was chatting with my Mom about how this month was looking with Younique.  As we approach the last day of the month and year, I was checking out my downline to see who was going to promote, who was sticking out as a great sales person or recruiter and how the people with big goals are progressing as rapidly as I did. I commented to her that I have noticed that one of the biggest reasons people quit or stop working the business is because they talk themselves out of it. So many start off strong and then get discouraged and decide that they can't succeed.  They decide that they won't be able to promote, reach their goals, make the kind of income they desire or change their lives. So they stop.  And guess what? They never promote, reach their goals or change their lives.  They never earn the big paychecks.  Is it because they couldn't do it? Is it because they weren't lucky or because they are incapable? NO! They talked themselves out of success.  They decided that they couldn't do it for one self defeating reason or another and gave up. You cannot sell if you are not working the business.

Now let's look at those who do succeed with Younique.  One thing that they all have in common is that they decide to rock this business.  They decide to work their tails off and do whatever it takes to be successful.  They decide to focus, persevere and keep going, regardless of any setbacks they may experience.  It doesn't mean that they don't have off days.  It just means that they made a decision to reach their goals and they are not going to allow anything, especially themselves, stand in the way.

I remember sitting in front of my computer in September 2014, 1 week after signing up as a Presenter. I was aware that there was an incredible opportunity with this company  I knew I was going to be successful. At that moment I decided to work harder, persevere longer and focus better than any other person out there.  While it may sound like I was trying to compete with others, my intention was to do the best that I possibly could [it's the leo in me].  I was competing with myself and the only one I had to out do was me. I used the example and actions of others to encourage me to keep going. Just shy of (4) months in, I've promoted three (3) times with Younique.  I have a downline of amazing girls AND guys that I am coaching and watching them change their lives for the better.  This is an amazing thing to be a part of but it all starts with a decision. And it wouldn't have happened if I had talked myself out of it.

Want to have fun colored strands in your hair or in your daughter’s hair? Pick out the pigment colors you want to use and mix it with water until it’s consistency is like a paste. 3. Lip Gloss

There is so many beautiful mineral eye pigment shades that can be turned into lip gloss and the process is really easy! 5 Things Your Mom Never Told You About Makeup

 

Ever since I was a little girl, I have always been fascinated by mystery of makeup. I remember watching my mom at the mirror applying her makeup and thinking "How did she learn such things?"

Aren’t you thankful that we live in the age of the Internet so that we can watch videos on YouTube and learn how to properly apply makeup? Everything that we could possibly ever want to learn about makeup can be found online.

2. Expiration Check

**Tips & Tricks**

No Mess Mascara: When you put on your mascara, do you get mascara on your lashes and everywhere else too? Try using a business card, or even a plastic spoon to keep mascara on only your lashes! I finally found a reason to use all the cards you get when you go out to a bar with the girls.

Blow Dry Those Lashes Girl: After applying your mascara, use the blow dryer on the warm setting to curl your lashes and dry your mascara. Does your make up company provide ingredients?

Parabens are used as a preservative in many cosmetics. According to safecosmetics.org,

“Parabens are a group of compounds widely used as anti-microbial preservatives in food, pharmaceutical and cosmetics products, including underarm deodorants. Parabens are absorbed through intact skin and through the gastrointestinal tract and blood. U.K. researchers found measurable concentrations of six different parabens in 20 human breast tumors. The study highlights the need for more research on the potential link between products containing parabens and increased breast cancer risk.”

SO are Parabens really bad?

Well – you decide for yourself:  Parabens can mimic the hormone estrogen, which is known to play a role in the development of breast cancers. Researchers have found parabens in breast tumors and believe there is a relationship between parabens and tumors. And in the July 2002 issue of the Archives of Toxicology, Dr. S. Oishi of the Department of Toxicology, Tokyo Metropolitan Research Laboratory of Public Health reported that exposure of newborn male mammals to butylparaben “adversely affects the secretion of testosterone and the function of the male reproductive system.” If a causal link between a chemical and cancer is not enough to avoid a product that can easily be avoided, I don’t know what is. There are a lot of other reports available all over the internet, but most of them are all related to reproductive health in some way or another.

The jury is still out on how and why parabens might affect development and growth of both babies and adults. But I decided a while ago to get rid of any products that have it and replace them with products that don’t. There is no harm being more careful with this kind of stuff – remember, things that were deemed safe in the past then came back to haunt us all when we were told that they actually caused all sorts of diseases. There ARE safe alternative’s available.

So back to the initial question – what are parabens? They are chemicals we need to work hard to avoid, period.
