Younique: 6 New Products and 2 New Countries JUST ANNOUNCED

Who’s been waiting (for what seems like forever) to find out Younique’s Big Announcement? My team and I have been SO excited about this huge announcement and have been going back and forth as to what it could be. The only facts that we have known so far is that Younique will be launching 6 brand new products for the spring AND will be opening new markets. While it’s been so much fun these past couple of weeks to guess what new products and countries that Younique will be launching into, I’m so happy to finally know all of the details! And, of course, I couldn’t wait to share the good news with all of you, too, so let’s just get right into it!

First, take a moment to watch the video recorded by the Founder and CEO of Younique, Derek Maxfield and co-founder of Younique, Melanie Huscroft:

1. Blending Buds

The blending buds are definitely something to get excited about. The blending buds were the January Kudos for parties over 5000 points. Each set includes a purple and pink blending bud. The purple blending bud is larger in size and is perfect for contouring, while the pink blending bud is smaller and makes highlighting a breeze!
Both blending buds are made out of Styrene-Butadiene Rubber. They are not latex-free. One of my favorite things about the Blending Buds is that both can be used with wet or dry products. Younique really knocked it out of the park with these blending buds because putting on foundation will be so much easier now!

The regular price of Blending Buds (set of 2) will be: $25 US, $30 CA, $33 AU, $35 NZ, £20 UK.

2. Stiff Upper Lip – Lip Stain

Guess what’s back? In November, Younique released this Stiff Upper Lip lip stain as an exclusive product for the November Kudos and it was in hot demand as everyone wanted to get their hands on it! I earned three lip stains and kept them all for myself. My mom asked me for one of mine, as did I love this Stiff Upper Lip Stain and I know that it’s going to be a very popular product, as Younique presenters have been begging for it to be a permanent staple in Younique’s inventory since it’s temporary release in November.

So, what’s so great about this lip stain? For starters, it truly is long lasting. If you apply it in the morning, it will still be there through lunch and dinner. For all of you that like to drink tons of water throughout the day, this is definitely right up your alley because the lip stain will not come off on your glass when you take a drink.

The seven (7) different lip stain colors will compliment every skin tone and you will fall in love with this amazing product!

3. Beachfront Bronzer

Who doesn’t love a good bronzer?! Bronzer is such a popular item in the makeup world.  Let’s face it: Everyone looks a little better when they are tan and look like they’ve been kissed by the sun.
No look is complete, in my opinion, without bronzer, especially in the spring and summer months!
A little Beachfront Bronzer on the sun-kissed spots of your face gives you a wonderful glow to last throughout the day.

4. Pressed Blush

This product was not mentioned in the above video, but it is coming out in early 2015 so I wanted to include it in this list of new products.

I find that it’s easier to work with pressed blush instead of loose blush any day of the week, so I can’t wait for this new product!  (I might be guilty of apply too much loose blush to my cheeks and looking like I’ve gotten a bad sunburn, which isn’t a good look to have. Ha!)

The shades of blush will stay the same as they’ve been in the loose form: Sweet, Stunning, Scandalous, Seductive, and Sophisticated, so no need to worry about changing to a new shade.

5. Splurge Cream Eye Shadow

I’m really excited about this eye shadow! I already have customers begging for some!!

It’s creamy and the colors look like beautiful neutrals that will go with all eye shades.

Plus, there will also be a  cream shadow brush so that it goes on perfectly!

 6. Shine Eye Makeup Remover Cloths

Since Younique makes high quality products, I know that these makeup remove cloths will be no different!

Whether it’s to remove the 3D fiber lash mascara, or to remove the Touch pressed powder, this will be effective and leave skin feeling nice and conditioned.

New Younique Markets Launching 2015

Now as if these six new Younique products aren’t exciting enough, let’s talk about the new markets that Younique will be launching into this year!

8 Smarter Ways To Put On Your Makeup

8 Smarter Ways To Put On Your Makeup

We put on makeup every morning, probably using the same routine we’ve used for years. We have it set to a science, but is our science the best we can be? We can be saving time and energy by doing our makeup smarter – and it’s often easier than you may think!

Prep the skin:

Preparing the skin is a must before you apply any type of foundation. This means starting with Younique's Illuminate Face Wash to clean your face to get any residue and dirt off your face. After washing your face apply Younique's Glorious Face and Eye Primer, and allow it to set a minute. Taking these steps prior to foundation will ensure your skin is both protected, clean and smoother with less visible pores and fine lines. Primer will keep foundation from settling in to fine lines, extend time between touch-ups as well as hide larger pores.

The power of powder:

Younique's Touch Pressed Powder is the great equalizer if you’ve applied too much eyeshadow or blush. Blend away a bit of the excess and pat on some pressed powder. It will take the edge off the color and soften it. This also works well if your brow filler looks too dark or too warm.

Order matters:

Apply lipstick or Younique's Gluten Free Lucrative Lipgloss first and then add your lip liner. Once lipstick is applied you can see exactly where you need the lip liner. Bonus: The two will fade together instead of leaving you with that “ring around the lips”!

Applying our Moodstruck Mineral Eye Pigments first before foundation can be a great clean up time saver and be smarter as well. If dramatic eyes are your thing, you know the shadow can be messy! Apply the entire eye look first, use a facial wipe to clean up & then your foundation and the rest of your makeup. It’s faster, and no worries of darker eye pigments accidentally mixing into your concealer or foundation! Another smart tip for eye pigments and liner, use a strip of paper medical tape (at most drugstores for about $4) and apply it on outer edge of eyes in a slanted direction from mid-point of lower lashes to temple. Paper medical tape is gentler than regular tape to the delicate eye area.

Clean up, don’t give up:

If you’ve applied too much foundation, no need to remove it all. Simply grab a cotton ball and buff away the excess by tapping over it in circular motions. The excess foundation ends up on the cotton and what’s left behind is buffed to a natural finish.

Blending is key:

If you struggle to create a smooth line with eyeliner, apply the liner first (on upper lash line) then add eye pigment powder, blending the shadow on your lids right into the liner. No one will be able to tell where the eye shadow ends and the line begins, so the eye liner will look perfect! PS....did I mention that Younique's Precision Eye Liners are NO SMUDGE!!

Mix and match:

If you bought a foundation or concealer that is too light for your complexion, don’t toss it. Add an apricot or nude blush or a light bronzer and it will warm up the color to make it match your complexion.

Perfect lips:

Try using Younique's NO SMUDGE Precision Lip Liner as your lip color. Line outer lips and fill in with same color. Add a swipe of gloss or lip balm and your done! Lasts for HOURS and totally KISSABLE too!

TIP: Get the Angelina full, seductive lip look by lining your lips how the picture above is displayed with Younique’s Pouty Lip Liner followed by some Luxe Lip Gloss over the top. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!

New Year - No Time For Excuses. Are You Guilty Of Excuses??

Let’s talk excuses. Everyone has them for all different reasons, whether it’s about exercise, work, cleaning the house, losing weight, or meeting friends for dinner. We are all guilty of using excuses to make us feel better and to help us get out of events. But for the love of all that is good in the world, we have to stop with the excuses. We have to stop telling ourselves these lies. We have to stop teaching our kids that excuses are okay. Excuses are NOT okay. Excuses won’t give you that amazing life. Excuses won’t get you that next promotion or that amazing body. Excuses won’t help you get anywhere actually.

Excuses make you lazy. Excuses make you complacent in all aspects of your life. Excuses drag you down and don’t make you productive. Excuses suck the life right out of you.

The bottom line? Excuses won’t get you anywhere. Did you hear that? EXCUSES WON’T GET YOU ANYWHERE. (Sorry for the all-caps, but some things are just all-cap worthy and this is one of them.)

So, why do we make up excuses? Because they make us feel better, of course. They allow us to pawn off the real reason of why we didn’t do something so that we don’t have to take the blame. You know, so that we don’t have to admit to failing with yet something else.

Excuses makes us feel better, right? There’s always another reason of why something got in our way and prevented us from achieving what we wanted. It’s never our fault. Oh no, that would be too much. It’s a million times easier to put the blame on someone or something else.

You know why you aren’t getting that next promotion? You know why you haven’t gone for a run in 2 months? You know why you don’t talk to "so and so" about your business? It’s because you don’t want it bad enough. Yep, I went there. When times got hard, you stopped. You can say every excuse in the book, but the fact is that you gave up when it wasn’t as easy anymore.

How’s that for some tough love?

There are very few things in life that are easy to achieve. If your goals in life are easy, chances are they aren’t big enough. You might want the perks of the big promotion, but you don’t want to put in the work that it takes to actually get there. You might want to tone up your legs by running, but you don’t want to put in the work that it takes. You might want "so and so" to join your team, but you don’t want to step outside of your comfort zone to actually talk to her about it. You just don’t want it bad enough. And when you don’t want it bad enough, you make up excuses.

Have you ever looked at someone, maybe a friend or a co-worker, and just thought, “Man, they have it easy”? It’s as if they got from Point A to Point B without even breaking a sweat. While it may look that way on the outside, it took work for that person to get to where they are.

Or what about that new band on the radio that seemed to come out of nowhere. One day you had no idea that the band even existed and the next day they are all over every radio station. Must have been some good luck, right? Wrong.

Nothing happens overnight when hard work is involved. You know why that band finally made it on the radio and why your friend got success? It’s because they both went for it. They didn’t make excuses and they didn’t hold back. They knew what they wanted and they did whatever it took to get there. Sure, it was hard at times, but they never gave up. They never let “it’s too hard” get in the way.

Are you thinking to yourself right now, “Yeah, but I have a family to take care of and there’s just not enough time for me to do that and to go after my dreams”?

Well guess what? We are all busy. Every single one of us is busy, whether it’s a demanding job, kids, or spouses. Sure, some of us may be busier than others but we all have things going on in our lives that we have to take care of. Life is busy, so you have to prioritize and then just do it.

You want to lose weight even though your husband wants to go out to dinner? Pick better and healthier choices while you are out. Plan ahead and look at the menu so you know exactly what you are going to order once you get there. Or tell your husband you need him to be more supportive of you and would like to have dinner be at home for the next month.

You want to exercise daily? Set your alarm for early morning and put it on the other side of the room so that you can’t hit snooze. Make it so that you actually have to get up and walk to it. Have your clothes ready so you can put them on and go.

You want a promotion? Get up early before the kids so that you can have quiet time to put in the work needed for your promotion. I'm up 30 minutes before I have to be so I can do 30 minutes of work before the rush of getting ready to leave the house.

You want "so and so" to join your business? Set up a coffee date with her and ask. If you don’t ask, you will never know.

Please stop making excuses. If you really wanted it bad enough in the first place, you would do whatever it took to achieve it. It really is that easy. You would put in the work needed to do whatever it is that you wanted. It’s not that someone else had a better advantage; it’s that you quit when times got tough and that’s when others kept on going.

And that right there is the difference between successful people and unsuccessful people.
Successful people battle with the same issues and hurdles as everyone else, but they don’t let it stop them. They keep on going. If they don’t know how to do something, they learn. If something isn’t working, they try something else. They are productive with their time. They put in the work needed. They do not use obstacles to fuel their excuses. Instead of letting obstacles keep them down, they see obstacles as challenges and rise above them. Successful people do not give up.

Think about your life and what you really want. If you really want something, stop with the excuses. Don’t be scared to fail. Many successful people fail over and over again. Failure doesn’t reflect on you; failure is an event. It’s something that happens and that you learn from. If you don’t fail, you aren’t learning. Be brave. Go after your dreams. Set goals, crush them, and then make more. Be true to yourself and what it is that you really want. Put in the effort. Be consistent. Have passion. Think about why you started and what the end result was/is that you want/wanted. But, most importantly, never, ever, ever give up.

Younique Incentive Trip: Let’s Go To Jamaica! #FillTheBoat

#FillTheBoat

Younique has announced the 2015 Incentive Trips, along with the qualifications to win the trips and I could not be more excited! Where are the trips to, you ask? Jamaica and the West Indies. Ahh, are you excited yet?! The fact that presenters are awarded for our hard work with a free vacation absolutely blows my mind! Oh but wait, it gets better…

On the cruise to Jamaica, you won’t be on a ship full of strangers. Oh no. You’ll be on a ship with ALL Younique presenters. You heard that right: ONLY Younique presenters on the ship. Younique is so cool that they have the entire ship dedicated to Younique presenters and their families.

As if that wasn’t enough, here’s the best part: Every single Younique presenter has the chance to earn this Jamaican cruise. Oh, you’re not a Younique presenter yet? That’s okay, because you can sign up and work hard to earn this trip. The qualification period just started on January 1, 2015, so there is still a lot of time. You can become a Younique Presenter today by going to: www.lashmob.ca

But if you feel like you’re missing out by not having the full qualification period, guess what? If you sign up between January 14, 2015 – February 14, 2015, Younique will add 1,400 Incentive Trip points to your account… just for signing up (and you will get some Younique cash deposited in your back office, too)!

Are you excited yet?

How To Win A Cruise To Jamaica Thanks To Younique!

There are so many variables in how you can win points for Younique’s Jamaica “Fill The Boat” Cruise. You can sponsor new presenters and help them reach their Fast Start Bonus, which will earn you an extra 1,400 points. You can help your team members advance and promote to the next status, which will earn you both points. You get points based on your “Paid As” status every month. You get one incentive point equivalent to your personal sales every month. When you register for the 3rd Annual Younique Convention, you’ll get an extra 1,000 points. Other additional ways to earn points will be announced as time goes on, too.

Younique is making the Incentive Trip to Jamaica very attainable for all presenters. Not only can we pay our bills in mascara, but we also get to experience new things and places. We get to meet new friends. We get to work hard towards our goals closely with our teams to help one another. Most importantly, we get to have FUN!

And isn’t that what life is all about? Having fun and surrounding ourselves with people we like and that matter most to us. Making every single day count. Actually living throughout the day instead of just going through the motions. I don’t know about you, but I wish every single one of my friends and family members could win this cruise with me. How awesome would it be to go on a free vacation with the people closest to you

If you’ve ever thought about becoming a Younique Presenter or if you can’t stop thinking about joining Younique, what’s stopping you? Maybe it was a previous bad experience in this industry? If so, let that go. Seriously, let it go. Don’t let a bad sponsor or company taint your opinion of what an amazing sponsor and company should look like. Take the plunge and let’s work together to form a plan so that you can achieve what you want.

If you’re scared to start something new, that’s okay too. I know new things can be scary, but what’s even scarier is living and always wondering what would have happened if you would have just tried it. It’s a new year and a great time to start something new so that you can better your life.

If you’re just looking for a better way, more money, new challenges, or anything of the sort, here it is. Give Younique a try!

If you want to know more about the Younique Incentive Trips, like the cruise to Jamaica, how to earn points, or how to sign up, just let me know. Give me a call (1-647-200-0406) or send me an email!

How To Wear Marsala, Pantone's 2015 Colour of the Year

How To Wear Marsala, Pantone's 2015 Colour of the Year

Take it as a sign: '90s beauty is back.

t's officially official! The Colour of the Year for 2015, according to the experts at Pantone, is marsala.

Like the wine. And apparently like chocolate, too (but I'm not seeing that). To me, it's as if someone stirred up a mixture of red, brown, purple and grey, and came up with this [to the right]:

But around here, we're concerned about beauty—and I say, this marsala development isn't such a bad thing. In fact, if you look back at recent red carpet photos, it was basically inevitable. Makeup has been getting browner and plummier for sure.

And if you think you've seen this all before, well, you're right. You have. Jennifer Aniston was rocking the marsala lips way back in the '90s.

Shannen Doherty (a.k.a. Brenda Walsh) was another big marsala-wearer. I'd say it was her signature shade:

But how the heck do you wear marsala in 2014? Without, y'know, looking like too literal of a '90s throwback?

Let's take our cues from some of the best looks on the red carpet, featuring marsala lips, eyes and cheeks:

How To Wear Marsala Lips:

It has to be said. The poster child for marsala is none other than Kylie Jenner. Over the last year or so, she's had a penchant for this exact shade—and I think it actually looks fantastic on her. Looks great with the matching dress.

You can get this look by using the following of Younique's natural based products:

#‎GetTheLook‬ by combining Pouty lip liner with Luscious lip gloss or Pouty lip liner, Loyal lip gloss, and Provoked mineral eye pigment.
‪#‎ColourOfTheYear‬ ‪#‎Colour2015‬ ‪#‎PrettyBigDeal‬ ‪#‎Younique‬ #Marsala

How To Wear Marsala Eyes:

If you don't think you can wear marsala all over (and under) your eyelids, I hear you. This is a pretty idea on Emma Stone, who, for a while there, was frequently matching her eyeshadow to her hair colour. What keeps this pretty wearable is the shadow just applied at the outer edges of the eyes and taken up towards the brows, leaving the other two-thirds of the lids bare. This is also a great application tip for hooded eyes.

How To Wear Marsala Cheeks:

I love a nice plummy marsala cheek for winter, as Jamie Chung is modelling here. Notice how her application is fairly sheer, and concentrated on the outer edges of the apples—I think this helps keep the look wearable and not too heavy.

If you have quite fair skin, then I would say to use marsala on the cheeks with caution. It's such a strong colour that too-heavy an application will make you look clownish.

How To Wear Marsala Nails:

By far the simplest way to get in on any colour trend is to paint your nails with it. And you don't need me to tell you how to wear marsala nail polish—I'm pretty sure we've all been wearing it in one form or another, for years already!

Have Your Say:

What do you make of this marsala colour? Which is your favourite way to wear it—lips, eyes, cheeks or nails?
